Why I design

To me every challenge is a design challenge. My clients love it when I visualize their multi-stakeholder problems. My expertise in communications and design thinking allows me to think outside the box to craft memorable experiences, products, and services that empower leaders to meet their strategic goals.

I live in Pennsylvania with my husband Doug, our daughter Ayanna, and our dogs Pierre & Ruby. When I'm not obsessed with your design challenge I sew, practice ukulele, and hike in the Pocono Mountains.

My Process

1. Discovery

Through client calls, stakeholder interviews, and document briefings I develop a deep understanding of the challenge my client is facing.

By listening empathetically to my client's desired outcomes, concerns, and what they've already tried, I avoid jumping to time-wasting conclusions about what the best solution might be.

2. Strategy

Beginning with the end in mind, I apply my expertise in design thinking and CX research to develop a strategy to build a novel solution that meets my client's challenge.

Often times my clients use this as the first deliverable to socialize and refine their plans with stakeholders, peers, and team members.

3. Execution

The stars have aligned and all parties are confident that our novel solution will meet the desired outcomes, so it's time to build.

Once we've got an MVP in place, we iteratively test our solution by collecting feedback on what we're designing first with those who have the highest contact with our users, then with users themselves.

4. Refine

Once we've implemented critical feedback from our users, our  solution is now ready to be finalised for go-to-market.

Many times my clients often need to create a deliverable to solicit critical input from decision makers across various departments in their organization in order to deliver a final solution.

"Rashida has been an amazing strategic partner for our audience research. She demonstrated empathy and hard work throughout our time working together."

Any questions?

My timeline is rather urgent. Can you still help me?

I typically need about 2 weeks lead time to fully understand the challenge your brand is working on. Depending on the scope of your project and how quickly we can establish a business relationship, I will be able to get started right away.

How long will it take for you to deliver my project?

Every design challenge is unique. When the project demands, I develop a deliverables timeline by breaking your project down into meaningful chunks which can be delivered every 2-3 weeks. This will serve as a ongoing status update until your entire project is complete.

Do you charge per hour or per project?

For long-term projects that require ongoing client engagement (such as design research, startup advisory, and digital transformation) I typically charge an hourly rate ranging from $150-$200 per hour.

For point-in-time projects that do not require long-term engagement (such as workshops, website design, motion graphics) I charge a one-time project fee.

Do you offer payment plans?

I deliver weekly invoices for hourly projects.

I require an upfront 50% payment for on-time fee projects for work to begin. The final 50% is due when all work is completed.

Can you travel on-site? or do you work remotely?

I prefer to work exclusively remote to care for my daughter. I plan to resume on-site work summer of 2023.

What is required to start my project?

I ask that clients fill out my contact form to give me some basic information about their project, budget and timeline. Then we'll hop on a 30 minute call to discuss the detailed scope of the project,  expected outcomes, and most importantly worst outcomes to avoid.

If there is a fit I create a project proposal. Once we have a signed agreement and I can get started.
